Lifestyle medicine is an evidence based approach that uses therapeutic lifestyle changes to prevent, treat and reverse chronic disease. It focuses on six core areas of daily behaviour":
Healthy eating: Eating whole, nutritious foods—often plant-predominant—to lower inflammation and improve metabolic health.
Physical activity: Moving regularly to protect the heart, manage weight, and boost mood.
Restorative sleep: Practicing good sleep habits to support physical and mental recovery.
Stress management: Using techniques like mindfulness to lower chronic stress.
Social connection: Building positive relationships and a sense of community to support mental health.
Avoiding harmful substances: Reducing or stopping the use of tobacco, excessive alcohol, and other risky substances.

It is a confusing landscape, and one worth understanding before you choose who to work with.
I am a registered nutritionist, holding an MSc in nutrition accredited by the Association for Nutrition — the UK's leading professional body for evidence-based nutrition practice. My recommendations are grounded in peer-reviewed science and held to rigorous academic and professional standards.
Nutritional therapy is a separate discipline, typically practised by those trained to diploma level. It often incorporates approaches that fall outside the mainstream evidence base. Some clients find value in this, but it is a different offering to what BiG SPooN provides.
It is also worth knowing that in the UK, neither the title "nutritionist" nor "nutritional therapist" is legally protected, meaning, in theory, anyone can use them. This makes credentials more important than ever. When working with me, you can be confident that my nutrition practice is underpinned by a Master's degree, AfN accreditation, and a medical training that adds a layer of clinical rigour that most nutrition practitioners simply do not have.

No. I do not provide GP or medical services. I do not prescribe medication, diagnose conditions, or replace the care of your existing medical team. What I will do is work alongside that care — helping you understand your health and build sustainable lifestyle and nutrition habits.
-
Collaborative, kind, honest, and straightforward. I am here to guide the process, unlock your most capable, confident self, and support you with achieving your goals.
-
Especially for you. Cutting through the overwhelm is exactly what I do. You do not need to arrive with any prior knowledge, just an open mind and willingness to make some changes.
-
You will leave with a clear, personalised action plan : practical, specific, and built around your actual life. No overwhelming overhauls, no unachievable targets. Just a set of evidence-based steps that are genuinely manageable, and a clearer sense of what good health looks and feels like for you.

A single session can give you useful information, but lasting change comes from putting advice into practice, seeing what works in your real life, and adjusting. Four weeks gives us time to do that properly. We start by understanding your health, goals and routine, then you try changes between sessions, and we review and refine based on what actually happened. That way you leave with a plan that fits your life and the understanding to keep it going, not just a list of recommendations.
-
Yes. I have clinical experience supporting people on GLP-1 medications, and it's an area I'm especially interested in. These medications can be very effective, but they work best alongside the right habits. Together we can focus on eating well with a smaller appetite, getting enough protein to protect your muscle, managing side effects through food, and building a healthy relationship with eating that doesn't depend on the medication. Whether you plan to stay on treatment long term or come off it in the future, the aim is to give you the knowledge, habits and confidence to look after your health for the long run.
I don't prescribe GLP-1 medications through this service. Your prescriber remains responsible for your treatment, and I'm happy to work alongside them.

Fees for 1-1 programmes start at £500 for a minimum of 4-weeks of support. This includes:
An in-depth initial consultation (60 minutes), covering your health history, goals, routine and relationship with food
Three weekly follow-up sessions (45 minutes each), to review progress and adjust your plan
Personalised recommendations written up after each session, so you always know what to focus on
Support between sessions via message/email, so you're not stuck waiting a week with a question
FAQs : Corporate talks & speaking
-
My most requested topics include nutrition and energy at work, sleep and stress, women's health and menopause in the workplace, and making sense of health trends like protein, supplements and GLP-1s. Every session is evidence-based and practical, and I'm happy to build something around your team's specific needs.
-
Before each session, we'll talk about your team, working patterns and what you'd like people to take away. Shift workers, desk-based teams and client-facing staff face very different challenges, and I adapt the content and examples so they feel relevant rather than generic.
-
A good talk gives people clear, trustworthy information and a few practical changes they can start straight away. Lasting change takes more than one session, so if you're looking for deeper impact, I can recommend a series or follow-up support that fits your goals.
-
Yes. I regularly speak about topics such as menopause and women's health. I handle them with care and keep the focus on practical, inclusive information. I don't give individual medical advice in group settings, but I can signpost where people can get appropriate support.
-
